The Gillis W. Long Center is located in Carville, Louisiana. The facility serves as a training and support installation for the Louisiana National Guard where security is vital to maintaining a safe military training environment. This project provides upgrades to the main security gate, incorporating the latest Department of Defense design requirements while maintaining the original architectural character of the building. A covered vehicular entry and exit feature was incorporated which will allow controlled check-in inspections for visitors of the installation. A new DOTD approved turn lane was designed for providing better traffic flow at the entrance.
