Residence in Tepatitlan, Mexico

This 5-bedroom 4-bath residence is surrounded by blue agave farmland sixty miles southwest of Guadalajara in Tepatitlan, Mexico. Known for its production of the blue agave, a porcupine-like plant that takes years to grow and harvest, Tepatitlan architecture prides itself as quality over quantity. Inspired by the local architecture and surrounding environment, this residence was built out of solid masonry walls with simple stucco detailing, a sustainable design solution to minimize HVAC requirements. Its earth tones and terracotta roof reflect the local cultures and historical building practices of the region.
